Everyone wants to know the story behind the name of this quilt. (Denyse pleads the Fifth.) This is one of her very first designs and it’s still among the best. One of her top-selling designs, it has received more face time in magazines than Denyse! This quilt is made without a pattern, so each block is cut and stitched from the center out in an intuitive way—a process more like painting or collage than quilting—and no two are ever alike. Many custom versions of this quilt have been requested over the years.
