A fat-quarter bundle is an easy and affordable way to purchase all or most of a collection. Most of my quilt patterns are "fat-quarter friendly" – meaning one or two bundles of a full collection is enough of the feature fabric to complete the design in any size. Just add yardage of your choice for background, binding, and backing.
What makes a fat quarter fat? A fat quarter is made by cutting a half
yard of fabric in half, rather than cutting a quarter yard off the bolt.
A fat quarter yields a more universally usable piece of fabric that
measures 18" x 22", while a quarter yard off the bolt would measure 9" x
45".
