The Proverbial Quilt-Along

I've teamed up with Sewtopia and The Next Stitch for another virtual sew along, this time for The Proverbial Quilt!

I made my first proverbial quilt in 1997, influenced by my education as a graphic and type designer, and inspired by early "talking quilts". Talking quilts usually featured quotes from scripture, but some quilts talked about various groups or touched on politics.  Think about this: Long before women had the vote, they could make their views known by sewing!

The Proverbial pattern provides the perfect platform to sew it out and say what is on your mind or heart right now. We'll provide a manageable schedule for easy-to-accomplish weekly goals, tips for selecting fabrics, planning your quilt, videos and instructions for different techniques to sew your letters, prizes, motivation, and most importantly – an online community for support, encouragement, and feedback.

The Proverbial Quilt Along launches March 28 and runs for six weeks. SIGN UP, and you'll be in the running for our first prize!

It's FREE to participate – you only need a copy of The Proverbial Quilt pattern. Get one from The Next Stitch, get one from Sewtopia, or get one from me if you don't already have one.

Read Wendy's BLOG POST over at The Next Stitch for all the details.
