This design is Denyse’s version of a traditional "snake-in-the-grass" or "drunkard’s path" pattern. Snake Charmer is a bit more formal and self-contained, and subtle shifts of color impart an organic-modernist feel. An idea long on the drawing board, this pattern finally took shape when Denyse developed it for her how-to book, Denyse Schmidt Quilts. Originally a Signature Design in the Couture Collection, the Snake Charmer is a popular addition to the Works Collection.
