Made to Order

The Quilt Gallery designs are handmade to order for you in my Bridgeport CT studio, one quilt at a time. We’ll work together via email or phone to ensure your modern heirloom quilt is exactly what you want.

Start by browsing the gallery. Some designs are maximal – colorful with wobbly lines like my drawings and shaped by an improvisational piecing method. Others are more minimalist in palette and design, informed by my graphic design background, and my appreciation for spare Amish quilts and utilitarian Shaker simplicity.

Don’t forget to browse my quilt patterns as well – any of these designs can be made to order for you!

"Thank you so very much for enriching our lives with your creativity and talent".

The Process

Most designs can be created in any bed size. Commission a design as shown on the website, or ask me to make fabric or color substitutions to suit your preferences. Contribute a piece of treasured fabric or clothing to make the quilt truly your own. We’ll determine the best finishing details – durable machine-quilting in my signature figure-eight pattern (I love the industrial feel and speedy lead time), or exquisite handquilting by Amish craftswomen (please allow a few extra months for this).

Collaboration

A single quilt can make an impression, but a series of quilts can tell a story. I welcome opportunities to collaborate on compatible projects (especially a body of work around a single theme) if my schedule allows. Examples of series work can be found in the Quilt Gallery, including the Mount Lebanon Series, The Straight and Narrow, Stonehouse Inn Quilts, Glass House Quilts, and the Denver Quilts Series.
