Hand stitching is my way of slowing things down—the restful pace helps me focus my attention, healing my fragmented mind. Making beautiful, steady progress soothes my soul!” — Denyse
Feeling frazzled and overwhelmed? Come spend an inspiring week learning needle turn appliqué with Denyse in beautiful Santa Fe! We begin with a trip to the Museum of International Folk Art for an immersion into the wide range of individual expression in decorative and functional art/craft. (We’ll also try to squeeze in a trip to the Botanical Gardens if time allows!)
Building confidence in our own aesthetic “voice,” we’ll practice drawing techniques and create unique appliqué motifs for a small quilt top. Denyse will teach the hand-stitch technique, and we’ll have lots of contemplative and companionable time to talk, sew, and create together.
I am so looking forward to this class!
