The Laid-back Hawaiian Style Appliqué pattern includes instructions and templates to make a large (approximately 22 inches square with backing when finished) needle-turn appliqué block. The motif is a beautiful organic design that will bring graphic beauty to any home. Customize your block with your fabric choices and frame your finished block, create a pillow, or make several blocks for a quilt top!

This pattern is a streamlined and more petite variation of the Hawaiian-Style Appliqué project in Denyse's second book, Modern Quilts, Traditional Inspiration (Abrams Craft 2012). The project is beginner-friendly and is a great project to practice (or perfect) your needle-turn appliqué technique!

Choose two coordinating or contrasting prints or solids for this fun hand-sewing project. Examples shown use Denyse's Five + Ten fabric, and vintage fabric. This pattern is available in digital format only.

– To make one block, you'll need two fabrics, each 24-inches square.
– Skill level: Confident Beginner.
– Instructions assume basic piecing and quilting knowledge for best results.
– Items made with this pattern may not be produced for commercial resale.

– DIGITAL FORMAT: 12 pages. Available for immediate download and viewable with Adobe Reader software. Formatted to print on either US letter or A4.
