Stonington

Stonington

FreeSpirit Fabrics, 2016

Stonington perfectly captures the strength, independence, and beauty of Denyse’s New England Yankee sensibility, with an endearingly familiar touch of 1970’s inspired fashion and decor. Like the trends of that era, Stonington straddles a folk/preppy/western vibe with cool understatement. Think 70’s rock stars, vintage jumpers and shirts, patchwork everything, tiered skirts with ruffles, lots of prints mixed together, big floppy hats, wide legged pants, and bandanas. Ten coordinating patterns in three salty colorways (Lobster, Twist, and Dungaree) offer a range of hues, scale, texture, and volume to combine and contrast with creative confidence. Practical and fanciful, Stonington is your go-to collection – the possibilities are endless!

This is me in 6th grade, with my favorite bandana-print dress. It came with a long white pleather vest!

Everyone wanted to be Ali McGraw back then!

Here is Stonington in the Tobacco Leaf pattern from my book Modern Quilts, Traditional Inspiration (STC Craft).

And my Hills 'n' Hollers quilt pattern.

And a 2016 edition of my Proverbial Quilt pattern.
